1. Overview

Mioru is a local-first desktop application. Your notes live on your computer as plain Markdown files. Mioru itself does not collect, store, or transmit your notes to any server operated by JLI Software.

This policy explains what data is processed when you visit this website (mioru.org) or use the Mioru application, and what rights you have under Swiss (DSG) and European (GDPR) data protection law.

2. Website (mioru.org)

2.1 Hosting

This website is hosted via Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process technical connection data (IP address, browser type, request timestamp) as part of content delivery and security services. Cloudflare's privacy policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

2.2 Analytics & Tracking

This website does not use any analytics, tracking cookies, or third-party tracking services. No user profiles are created. No data is shared with advertising networks.

2.3 Local Storage

The website stores your language preference (EN/DE) and theme choice in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is used solely to remember your display preferences.

3. Mioru Desktop Application

3.1 Local Data

Mioru stores all notes, settings, and project files locally on your computer. These files are never uploaded to JLI Software. You control where your vault is stored and whether to sync it via third-party services like Nextcloud.

3.2 AI Providers

When you use AI features, your note content and prompts are sent directly from your computer to the AI provider you have configured (e.g., OpenAI for ChatGPT, Anthropic for Claude). JLI Software does not see, log, or store this data. The processing is governed by the respective provider's privacy policy:

3.3 Web Search (Tavily)

If you enable web search, queries are sent to the Tavily search API. Tavily's privacy policy: tavily.com/privacy.

3.4 Speech-to-Text (Whisper)

If you use dictation, audio is sent to OpenAI's Whisper API for transcription. OpenAI's data usage policy applies. Audio is transmitted directly from your device to OpenAI — JLI Software does not receive or store your audio recordings.

3.5 Network Access

Mira's network access is limited to the APIs you explicitly configure. Mioru does not make background network requests to JLI Software servers. Mioru does not phone home, check for updates automatically, or report usage telemetry.

4. Email Communication

When you email us at [email protected], your email address and message content are stored only for the purpose of responding to your inquiry. Emails are not used for marketing, not added to any newsletter list, and not shared with third parties.

5. Purchase & Payment

Mioru is sold as a one-time purchase. Payment processing is handled by a third-party payment provider. JLI Software does not receive or store your full payment details (credit card numbers, bank account details). The payment provider's privacy policy applies to the transaction data they process.
